Kim Min-jae was ranked as the 6th best center back in the world by British media.
On the 12th (KST), the British ’90min’ released a ranking of the 25 best center backs in the world. Jules Kunde (Barcelona), Édouard Militant (Real Madrid), Cristian Romero (Tottenham Hotspur), Lisandro Martínez, Rafael Varane (Manchester United), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Yoshiko Gvardiol, and Jubeng Dias (Manchester City) were among the top defenders on the list.
Kim Min-jae came in at No. 6. He was recognized for his work at the back for Napoli last season, leading the team to its first Italian Serie A title in 33 years. In addition to being named the best defender in Serie A in 2022-2023, he was recently named one of the 30 candidates for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
’90min’ ranked Kim at #6, saying, “When Kim gave Napoli the Scudetto in the 2022-2023 season, all of Europe took notice. Bayern Munich now have one of the best defenders in the world.” Considering it’s a British publication and the list is dominated by English Premier League (EPL) players, that’s pretty high praise.
Among Bayern’s center backs, he stood out. Dayo Upamecano, who forms a central defense combination with Kim, was ranked 23rd, while Matthias Düricht, the backbone of Bayern’s defense last season, was ranked 17th.
Only five players were ranked higher than Kim: Fandike, Antonio Rudiger, John Stones, David Alaba, and Dias. With the exception of Alaba, all of these players are either playing in the EPL or were highly rated, and it’s hard to argue that most of them performed better than Kim last season. 바카라
Nevertheless, there’s no denying that Dias tops the list. Dias joined City in 2020 and immediately became an integral part of the team, providing stability at the back. With him, City broke the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarterfinal jinx and won a European treble last season.
The publication said of Diaz: “He had an incredible start to his career at City and has improved over time. He was a mainstay in the 2022-2023 season and completed the treble. There is no better center back in the game right now.”
