Cheongju FCK and Haeoreum FC took the top spots in the U-10 and U-12 (8-a-side) categories, respectively, at the Football Festa, which aims to be a soccer festival where players, parents, and local residents can participate and enjoy the game.
Cheongju FCK defeated Chilgok FC 4-2 in the U-10 final of the 2023 Yeongdeok Football Festa on Thursday at the Yeongdeok County Sports Complex in Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province.
Cheongju FCK, which finished first in the pool league with six wins out of six matches, pushed Chilgok FC, which finished second (5-1-1), from the start.
Cheongju FCK scored back-to-back goals from Hwang Jeong-yeon in the eighth and 13th minutes of the first half before Do Hyun-seok added a third in the 14th minute.
Chilgok FC pulled one back in the 15th minute through Lee Dae-hoo, but Cheongju FCK’s Goo Ye-jun scored the team’s fourth goal shortly after the start of the second half.
Nevertheless, Chilgok FC gave it their all, pulling one back in the seventh minute of the second half through Park Jun-seo, but that was as close as they would get.
Hwang Jung-yeon, the multi-goal hero of the final, was named the tournament’s U-10 Most Valuable Player.
Earlier, in the U-12 final, Haeoreum FC won the title with a 5-0 victory over Respect FC, led by “Captain” Lim Woo-hyuk, who scored one goal each in the first and second halves. Lim took home the Most Valuable Player award in the U-12 category.
In the U-8 final the previous day, Chilgok FC faced off against Respect B, and after a 2-2 draw in regulation time, the team won 3-2 in penalty kicks. Chilgok FC’s Jung Min-jun took home the U-8 Most Valuable Player award.
Meanwhile, Best Eleven, a 53-year-old soccer magazine, has joined hands with 먹튀검증 Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the Yeongdeok-gun Football Association to conduct a football festival from August to September. In addition to the advanced soccer clinic event organized by the Korea Football Association for soccer prospects in Yeongdeok-gun, the festival held U-10 and U-12 youth tournaments with teams from all over the country.
During the A match on the 7th and 8th of next month, ‘Football Festa with Football Legends’ will be held, a charity match featuring the Football Love Sharing FC, which consists of national players who participated in the World Cup from 1986 to 1998. Donations raised through the match will be donated to scholarships for children and youth in Yeongdeok-gun.
