The Philadelphia 76ers plan to trade.
According to reporter Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia’s Furkan Kokmaz (guard-forward, 201cm, 92kg) requested a trade.
Kokmaz has rarely been able to get a chance to play this season. Their position has declined significantly since James Harden joined them ahead of the trade deadline last season. Even after joining Harden, it was expected that he would play a role as a swing man, but he was excluded from the main power.
Philadelphia showed interest in trading Corkmaz during the season. Since the total annual salary is high, I hope to reduce expenses. It would be perfect if they could start to reinforce their power, but it is not easy to actually add power through Kokmaz.
In the offseason, Harden voluntarily reduced his ransom and re-signed, which allowed PJ Tucker and Daniel House Jr. to come in. With Harden’s remaining and House’s addition, the position was bound to be shaken. However, even though House has rarely played in the middle of the season, the decline in Kokmaz’s role is noticeable.
He has appeared in 25 games this season. He is averaging 3.8 points (.410 .343 .655) and 1.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game. In his last season, he performed well on the perimeter, averaging over 20 minutes per game. From the last 2019-2020 season, he performed well on the outskirts, averaging more than 9 points for two consecutive seasons. However, he performed sluggishly last season, even playing more than 20 minutes, and was eventually pushed out this season. 슬롯사이트
But trading doesn’t seem easy. Because his contract is burdened. Philadelphia signed a new contract with Kokmaz in the summer of 2021. At the time, Philadelphia gave him a three-year, $15 million contract. There is no separate option included, and the annual salary for the upcoming 2023-2024 season is about $5.37 million, which is by no means small. As it is not an expiring contract, it does not seem easy to trade during this season.
The Turkiye native entered the NBA in the 2016 draft. Since entering the NBA, where he was called up by Philadelphia with a 26th pick in the first round, he has not moved a single team. He did not have an extended contract before his rookie contract expired, but he continued to accompany him by signing a new contract with his contract expiring. However, it has been sluggish since his contract, and he is having a disappointing season as he was eventually excluded from the rotation.
